When I install the updated file, it says you need to it to “TheSims4”, after that, it says “File missing” and destroys your base game so you can’t play.

for those who keep asking how to do the updates:
you have to all the update files (yes all of them) after you’re done with ing the original game file.
When you finish installing the original game file, you have to install all the update files in order (make sure that you install the update files in order. pay extra attention to the file names)

I ed the sims 4 from this website and I quite assure you that the mods work perfectly. Just make sure you install the mods correctly. they should be in this direction: documents/Electronics Art/The Sims 4/Mods.
Also, your mods shouldn’t be more than one folder deep.
